| Wednesday 1000 Returning back to my base from a routine practice mission. Taxiing back to the parking area, I hear "Zanek" (Jump) on the radio. What? I asked myself. Everything was calm when I took off, just one hour ago. By the time I get out of the plane, I hear the roar of the heavy takeoffs. And then another roar, and another. Each side blamed the other for the tit-for-tat attacks on the border, which remains highly volatile six years after Israel ended its 22-year occupation of southern Lebanon in May 2000. | Israeli warplanes have bombed what the army says is a Palestinian militant base in Lebanon hours after rocket attacks on two Israeli border towns. There was no immediate information on casualties or damage. "This is in response to the firing of projectile rockets last night toward Israeli communities," the army said. At least four rockets fired from Lebanese territory hit Israeli towns close to the border on Tuesday evening without causing casualties. Read more on BBC NEWS | |
